The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro max makes up for some of the drawbacks of it’s predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. It addresses some to it ills offering enthusiasts with more RAM, a improved camera, faster charge mechanism, and lots more.
Design and Display
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro max is a replica of it’s Pro variant.
They share same physical appearance, and build and are made of gorilla glass 5 on the rear and upfront and a plastic frame.
On the rear, showcases a quad cameras and a camera flash on a square layout. This rear panel is also home to the Redmi logo which is a trademark of the company – Xiaomi Smartphone.
Upfront, it setup is like a look-alike of Samsung Galaxy A71 and the Samsung Galaxy A51. It is a display having a single camera cut-out in the top middle.
This features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display, with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a screen density of 395 ppi.
Featuring an IPS CD display on a pro max smartphones didn’t come up to scratch.
It comes with three color options which are Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro max offers a higher-resolution selfie camera and a higher-resolution primary camera, which is aimed taking clear cut photos.
The rear camera was an upgrade from 48MP it’s pro variant, to a 64MP primary camera, which is alike with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Apart from 64MP camera, the rear also feature other cameras other cameras which are the 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera.
The cameras on the rear are also capable of shooting photos in HDR, Panorama and also shoot 4k videos at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 30/60/120 frames per second and 720p at 960 frames per second for slow-mo videos.
The front-facing camera showcases a 32MP camera, which is housed within a punch-hole and is capable of shooting photos in HDR, panorama also 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
Hardware and Software
The upgrades though minute are essential for a sterling performance of tasks and transition.
Same Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G Processor, Andreno 618 graphics processing unit and the same 5020 non-removable battery just like the Pro variant.
The high side here is an upgraded 6GB/8GB RAM option.
It is powered by MIUI 11 user-interface software and runs on Android 10.0 operating system.
The smartphone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, dual-band Wifi Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Internet connectivity on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is capped at 4G LTE unlike Redmi K30 pro or the Nokia 8.3 which supports the 5G network.
It comes with an built-in storage of 64GB / 128GB, which can be expanded via Micro-SD Support.
It is fuelled by a 5020mAh Non-removable Li-Po Battery and a 33W fast charge, which makes charging a whole lot faster.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Price and Availability
The price of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is tagged around $194 which roughly 71,198 Naira, 20,370 Kenyan shillings, and 1,088 Ghana Cedi.
The smartphone was announced on March 12, 2020, and is currently available for purchase.
The major differences between the Xiaomi smartphones (Pro and Pro Max) is the camera, RAM specification, a faster charge mechanism and lastly the pric.
A 48MP primary camera instead of a 64MP, 4GB RAM base model (with an option for 6GB of RAM) as against, 6GB RAM base model (with an option for 8GB of RAM) and 18W fast charging instead of 33W.
However, the battery size, the display, the design, and the software are exactly the same on both xiaomi Smartphones ( Pro and Pro Max).
