Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite: Specifications, Price and Review

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite

Six months after releasing the widely acclaimed camera-centric Mi Note 10 series, the smartphone giant Xiaomi has again launched a cheaper model – the Mi Note 10 Lite featuring most of the specs of the regular Mi Note 10 at the cost of much worse cameras.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite variant maintains the glass body design.
It has teardrop notch on the front and a Quad-camera instead of Pent-camera like it’s siblings.

Its dimensions measures 157.8 x 74.2 x 9.67 mm in dimensions, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and weighs 204 grams which is smaller and less bulky.

For colour options, the Mi Note 10 Lite retains same Glacier White and Midnight Black, but ditches the Aurora Green color for a new and pretty cool Nebula Purple.

The affordable editon sports the same 3D curved 6.47-inch FHD+ AMOLED display on the regular Mi Note 10 siblings.

Other features like the 600 nit colour brightness, HDR 10 Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 398 PPI, TÜV Rheinland low blue light mode, in-display fingerprint sensor and others are same as it’s note 10 siblings.

The Cameras

The affordable edition differ from the Mi Note 10 in the most crucial department: it’s camera.

While the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 features a huge 1/1.33″ 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX, the Lite goes with the smaller, lower-res 1/1.73″ 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera.

The ultra-wide-angle camera is downgraded from a 20MP unit to an 8MP sensor, and the two telephoto lenses are tossed in favor of a 5MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor.

It’s front camera is a 16MP selfie camera.

The camera is paired with a double LED flash, 6 Movie modes, Macro video shooting, Vlog video, 4K video recording, Portrait mode background blurring, Panorama mode, Pro mode, AI documents scanner and others.

Hardware and Software

The smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor chipset that is based on 8nm process technology. Also is an octa-core processor handling its assignment at a speed of 2.2 GHz with Adreno 618 graphics processor.

The android phone runs on the Android 10.0 operating system with MIUI 11 based user interface.

It packs a 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 flash storage with RAM option of 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support external microSD card expansion.

IR Blaster, In-screen ambient light sensor, Vibration motor, Electronic compass, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope

It features a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, an audio jack, NFC, IR blaster, USB Type-C, FM radio, 3G, and 4G LTE on dual SIM.

Powering the device is a massive 5,260mAh non-renewable Li-Po battery that supports 30W fast charging via USB Type-C. The 30W power brick is tipped to push a full charge in just 64 minutes.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite will cost €349 for the 6GB RAM model, while the 8GB+128GB version will cost €399.

In Nigeria, it is expected to start around 150,000 Naira, while in Ghana, it will cost 2,200 Ghs and 40,200 Ksh in Kenya.

The smartphone has been availabe since 12th of May 2020.

The arrival of the Lite edition is to create an affordable alternative to the Mi Note 10 and it still enjoy several high-spec hardware from the more expensive model.

The new addition shares the same decent-sized 5,260 mAh battery as the regular Mi Note 10, and the company has been busy bragging about the various runtimes users can expect from the lite model.

Aside it camera specs which is a bit low, it’s storage which is 64/128 is still enough for a Lite version even without an external all the qualities of the premium variant.
