Ulefone Armor 9

The Ulefone Armor 9 comes as world first Android 10 supported thermal imaging camera smartphone. It shares similarity with Ulefone armor 7 and packs a 6.3-inch LCD Display, ample storage, decent processor, thermal imaging camera, connectors for endoscope cameras, and lots more.

Design and Display

It comes with military grade craftsmanship built with soft TPU, and aluminum alloy reinforced polycarbonate material providing a 360° all round protection with unrivaled durability and ruggedness

It’s built with advance sealing technology and components like the USB port, earphone jack and SIM slot that are exposed to the outside are coated with high density macro-molecule for waterproofness.

A military grade MIL-STD-810G certification offers protection under extreme condition such as acidic, radiation, humidity and low pressure.

It IP69K and IP68 rating offer protection on concrete from 1.2m height for a whole day and immersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to half an hour respectively.

On the rear panel is a camera module which houses a set of cameras, including a thermal imaging camera. Beneath the camera module is an LED flash and at the bottom you will find the Ulefone branding.

Upfront it showcases a vivid 6.3-inch LCD waterdrop display with IPS technology. The screen reaches 93.9% screen-to-body ratio covered by Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and 410 PPI density.

The body dimensions measures 168.2 x 82 x 15 mm with one of the heaviest weight for a smartphone at 320 grams.

A side mounted fingerprint scanner which click at 0.1s mounts on the right when close to the power key.

There is a custom key which sits below the volume button on the left edge allow quick access to flashlight, recording, screen shot, SOS and PPT button.

The Cameras

One of the selling point of this smartphone is it integrated FLIR thermal imaging camera with MSX technology can detect objects in a scene and also create thermal images based on temperature abnormalities.

It offers a 64MP Samsung GW1 primary rear camera with Tetracell and integrated 3D HDR technology as opposed to the 16MP shooter on Ulefone Armor 8.

It has a 82° field of view with 6 piece lens, give 16MP via pixel-binning supported by quad-LED flash.

This is followed by a 2MP depth camera and a 5MP camera assist with thermal imaging sensor.

Video recording for the main camera is maxed at 4k while the front camera records 1080p video both at 30fps

The camera is supported by four high brightness flash on the rear to capture the world even during low light condition as well as underground photography.

A Thermal Imaging Camera

This feature plays an important role in wide electricity maintenance, emergency rescue, pipeline maintenance, adventure and host of others. It’s suitability cut accros engineers, factory workers and military personnel. So you just don’t have a telecommunication gadgets in hand, you also have a tool.

Endoscope camera

It also support an endoscope camera – a camera that can view hard-to-reach areas, narrow and confined such as car engine, HVAC, pipe vent, kitchen sink, bathtub pipes and the list is endless.

An 8MP selfie camera housed in the waterdrop notch. The camera is supported by an on-screen flash for bright images and face unlock.

Hardware and Software

The smartphone is manned by the most powerful P-series processor from MediaTek, Helio P90 based on 12nm process. This chipset powers the likes of Ulefone Amor 7, Ulefone Amor 9, BlackView BV9900, BlackView BV9900E and Oppo Reno 3.

The Octa-core SoC handle task swiftly at up to 2.2GHz clocking speed and an IMG 9XM-HP8 GPU to breeze through not too power intensive task.

The Ulefone Armor 9 runs on its user interface laid ontop Android 10 operating system.


A single storage configuration of 8GB of RAM plus 128GB of internal storage, and up to 2TB expansion via memory card slot.


A non-removable 6600mAh long lasting battery fuels the device and an 18W fast charging support.


The Ulefone Armor 9 features a USB Type C port, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, , heart rate Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5 mm headphone jack and NFC.

The price of Ulefone Armor 9 starts at $429. You can also buy it together with a multipurpose protective case for $445 or the 3-in-1 waterproof endoscope for $449.

You can buy all three ( the Ulefone Armor 9 + the protective case + 3 in 1 waterproof endoscope) for $464.

In other climes, the Ulefone armor 9 sells for 165,057.88 Nigerian Naira, 2,490.32 Ghanaian Cedi and 46,889.70 Kenyan Shilling.
