The South Korean Tech Giant, Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy M11, a new add-on to the M series.

Like every successor, it is an upgrade of its predecessor, Galaxy M10. The mid-range phone offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Fast charging, massive battery capacity and a triple rear cameras.

Design and Display

The rear is wrapped with polycarbonate shell as well as the frame and a glass build upfront.

At the side is a smooth curve to allow easy grip and navigation. It’s design to looks good and will definitely feel good to hold.

Its dimensions measures 161.4 x 76.3 x 9 mm in and weighs 197 grams.

The screen comes in the shape of a hole or the Infinity-O as Samsung calls it offers a 6.4 inch HD+ Display that provides edge-to-edge coverage which lets users enjoy videos and gaming.

The screen has a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels, at a rate of 268 PPI density, supports new dimensions of 19.5: 9 and 81.6% screen-to-body ratio.

It comes in three (3) colors shades such as Black, Metallic Blue, and Violet which adds a modern twist to the fashionably simple frame.

It also supports the Face Unlock feature to unlock the phone by your face, finger print scanner at the rear.

The Cameras

The triple rear cameras set-up comprises of a 13MP Main shooter which promises to take clear images day and night. Another 5MP Ultra Wide camera promising to capture anything in front of you with clear details.

The 2MP depth camera works to pin-point the subject of your photo by blurring the background.

The depth of field can be adjusted before and after you nail the shot. Thus unwanted background noise can be removed from your images to make them look professional.

Upfront is an 8MP snapper that uses Live focus to gently blur the background so that you will get a perfect shot anywhere in addition to the single LED flash.

The smartphone can shoot a 1080p video at 30fps capture rate and 70p HD photography at 30fps capture rate.

Hardware and Software

On paper, the Galaxy M11 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset that is based on 14nm process technology.

The Octa-core processor processes at a speed of 1.8 GHz and it has Adreno 506 GPU similar to Huawei Y7 2019, A20s, and Realme C1 processor.

It comes in two different storage options, the 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

The smartphone runs on One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 operating system.


A 3.5mm headphone jack, Type-C USB, and other features on the device include a dual SMS with 4G LTE Network, WiFi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Glonass, Beidou and Galileo for location tracking.


Finger print sensor, acceleration, proximity and light.


As for the storage, it offered a 32GB, or a 64GB in-built storage which can be expanded up to 512 GB using a micro SD card.


The Galaxy M11 is fueled by a massive 5000 mAh battery that has support for 15W fast charging which delivers more charge in less time.

Samsung Galaxy M11 Price and Availability

The price of Samsung Galaxy M11 is expected to cost around $145 which is approximately 54,000 Nigerian Naira.

In Ghana, it will sell at 850 Ghana Cedi and 15,500 Kenyan shilling in Kenya.


Like every smartphone, they all have their weaknesses.

It’s downsides includes the snapdragon 450 processor is old and poor in performance with more powerful phones like Realme C3, Low screen brightness.

The compass sensor so can’t give locations accurately, the sound is relatively weak but still okay for such a price.

On the positive side, the USB Type-C port and 15W fast charging are special in this price categtory, the finger print sensor which work just fine, the battery life which can last a day.

The Big hole shape screen is enough to watch videos and browse social media apps, supports wide photography.
