Samsung has officially announced the entry-level smartphone – Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020). The new version comes with almost the same specifications as the original Galaxy J2 that was launched in the year 2018 .
The smartphone is being targeted at first-time smartphone users or those looking to transition from a feature phone to a smartphone.
The smartphone still features a total of two cameras, a compact 5-inch display, Exynos chipset, same Android Go Edition and an improvement in the storage. Read on to know more about the device..

Design and Display
The entry-level smartphone still maintains the old design and no key improvement on the body like the 2018 model.
The small-sized Android phones features a smooth panel and a thick bezel on the front.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is built with plastic on the back and frame while the front is made of glass. The Galaxy J2 Core measures 143.4 x 72.1 x 8.9 mm in dimensions, weighs154 grams and a pixel density of 220 PPI
The Android phone sports a 5-inch PLS TFT LCD display with a screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9.
The smartphone is available in Gold, Blue, and Black colour options.
For photography, the smartphone is equipped with an 8MP shooter with an autofocus lens on the rear which can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
On the front, is a single 5MP shooter for selfies and video chats.
Hardware and Software
The biggest highlight of this smartphone is that it’s an Android Oreo (Go edition) device powered by 1.4GHz Exynos 7570 Quad-core processor.
This is a quad-core 14nm chip with four Cortex-A53 cores and a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics and good gaming experience.
It runs on the Samsung User Interface layered on top Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.
It lightweight software, promises a fast performance and Optimised Data Control feature will ensure low data usage while using the device.
The entry-level smartphone offers a paltry 1GB of RAM, which is quit disappointing and an internal storage of 16GB. The storage can further be expanded by up to 256GB via a microSD slot.
The device supports a dual SIMs slot, 4G network connectivity and a dedicated SD card slot on the inside. It also supports the following features; WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, A2DP, A-GPS, Glonass FM radio and micro USB 2.0, USB On-The-Go.
The smartphone is fuelled by a removable 2600mAh power pack which the company claims will deliver up to 14 hours of web browsing over LTE and can last a full day on a single charge.

The smartphone compete against the Realme C3 phone, which currently packs some of the best at an entry-level price point.
The price of Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) will sell at $82 which is about 32,500 Naira in Nigeria, 500 Ghs in Ghana and 9,500 Ksh in Kenya.
