Samsung is revitalizing its Galaxy A series lineup for 2020, has announced the company’s new Galaxy A51 5G and A71 5G phones – adding 5G capabilities for the first time, to the company’s arguably most popular and successful smartphone line-up.
Design and Display
The design department of the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G looks identical to the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G. To cut the chase, they are made you have got the same setup and build on a chassis that is a bit smaller.
The back is made in glass, but with a more glistening design effect that’s visually distinct and divided into two halves on the phone.
Also at the rear is a rectanglar block housing a sets of four cameras and an LED flash at the top-left corner while the brand name lies on the bottom half.

The quad cameras module on the rear comprises of 48MP primary cameras with an aperture of f/2.0, a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 5MP f/2.4 depth camera.
This rear camera setup allows you capture photos in Panorama and HDR mode while shooting 4k videos at 30fps and 1080p videos up to 120fps.
A punch hole camera setup featuring a 32MP sensor which is capable of taking photos in HDR mode and also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
Hardware and Software
Comparing the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G to its Samsung A51 4G, you observe a step up in processor, battery and a new 6GB standard RAM variant.
The smartphone is powered by an Octa-core Exynos 980 processor unlike the Exynos 9611 on A51 4G, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and a graphic processor of Mali-G76 MP5 GPU.
The One UI 2.0 user-interface is runned on the Android 10.0 operating system.
The smartphone presents a 128GB of storage, and you will be able to expand up to 1TB via a microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G features a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a future-proof 5G connectivity.
While the 4G variant packs a 4,000mAh, the A51 5G rocks a 4500 mAh coupled with a 15W fast charging will also be included.
Samsung Galaxy A51 5G Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G cost about $500, which is around 193,210 Naira, 53,295 Kenyan Shillings and 2,900 Ghana Cedi.
The smartphone was announced on April 8 and is expected to go in early May of 2020.
