Oppo F17 Pro is the premium variant of the new mid-range device from the company which banks high on design and a light body.

The mid-range Oppo F17 Pro continues Oppo’s innovative efforts with it youth-centric features which includes lightweight, eye-catching colourways and appealing designs.

Like the F17, Oppo tag the Pro as the slimmest phone in its segment sleekest phone of 2020.

Design and Display

The Oppo F17 Pro present a stylishly well-crafted design with emphasis specifically on its 7.48mm ultra-slimness and 164 grams ultra-lightweight body.

The build element comprises of Gorilla Glass 3+ front with an even blending of polycarbonate frame and rear panel.

The coating on the rear is doubled for better grip along with a gradient reflecting finish
with shifting colour shades depending on where light falls on.

A rounded square bump resembling a glass gas burner sits on the top left of the gradient finished back with the flash just beside it and the Oppo branding slides upward on the bottom right.

It ultra-light weight makes the Redmi K20 and OnePlus Nord feels bulky and dated.

Oppo settled for a tall 6.47-inch super AMOLED screen, with Full HD+ 1080 x 2400 resolution and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio.

The screen occupies 90.07% of it’s body ratio with a tiny dual-punch hole cutout on the top left corner and an in-display fingerprint sensor housed on it.

Oppo slips by settling for a standard 60Hz refresh rate and the display doesn’t support HDR as well.

Even the Oppo A53 which is half the price of the Oppo 17 pro comes with a 90Hz panel.

Oppo added Always on Display feature which is absent in OnePlus devices with AMOLED screens.

It is showcased in trio colour options which includes Matte Black, Magic Blue, and Metallic White trims.


The rear cameras share similar spec to that of the Reno 4 Pro, only difference is it vertical strip array instead of a square arrangement on the Oppo F17 pro.

It six cameras comprises of a 48MP Samsung GM1ST f/1.7 main camera along with an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP f/2.4 portrait camera, and another 2MP f/2.4 monochrome camera.

The cameras offer exciting features like 4k video, Bokeh Video, fun portrait modes and Slow-motion Video.

Upfront shows off dual selfie cameras of 16MP Sony IMX471 paired with another 2MP f/2.4 depth camera.

Hardware and Software

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio P95 SoC which is also found on Reno 3 Pro. For ardent gamers, this smartphone isn’t for you because the chipset struggles on online gaming or graphics-intensive task.

The SoC pairs with an octa-core processor running at 2.2GHz and PowerVR GM9446 for graphics.

The oppo F17 pro run on Oppo’s ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10 skin.


The chip is further paired to 8GB of RAM with 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage and a memory card slot for additional storage.


The Oppo F17 Pro supports 4G network with dual nano-SIM port, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB-C port, and an audio jack.


The 4015 mAh battery can keep you on the go even with heavy usage with 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 fast charging technology can take the device from zero to full in just 53 minutes

Furthermore, it’s AI Night Charging mode slows down charging speed during the night but ensures your battery is fully charged before you wake up.

While it Super Power Saving Mode allows you to enjoy up to 70 minutes of calls with 5% battery charge.

Oppo F17 Pro Price and Availability

The Oppo F17 Pro is available and it cost around $339 which translates to about 135,000 Naira in Nigeria, 2,100 Ghs in Ghana, and 38,000 Ksh in Kenya.
