Motorola Moto G Power 2021 Specs
Motorolar releases the refresh model of the last year’s iteration, the Motorola Moto G Power 2021.
This comes just when we thought vivo was refreshing it’s 2020 model with the likes of V20 2021 and Y20 2021
Thr smartphone comes as a successor to 2020 edition Moto G power, and offers slightly higher storage , improved main rear camera, and big battery.
Design and Display
Just like it’s predecessor, it bears water repellent design that gives no worry when accidental spills or rain splashes falls on it.
The front is wrapped by a 6.6-inch Max Vision display based on IPS LCD tech, that fits comfortably in your hand. The screen has an HD+ (720 x 1600) resolution, that offers an enlongated 20:9 aspect ratio for immersive viewing with 87% screen to body ratio and 267 PPI density.
On to the plastic rear, is a centrally placed square camera module design, holding three cameras and an LED flash. While the Motorola’s batwing branding lies just below the camera module.
The phone weight lies pretty on the heavy side with 206.5 grams which is 0.5 grams heavier than Huawei P smart 2021 and 165.28 x 75.9 x 9.49mm in dimmensions.
You get a power button/fingerprint reader integrated together on the side of this device and a quick double tap opens a shortcut menu, that launches you to your favorite apps.
The device comes in two solid color tones; Flash Gray and Polar Silver colorways.
Motorola did make efforts to improve the rear primary camera with a leap from 16MP camera on the 2020 editon to a 48MP camera with Quad Pixel technology.
The other two members on the rear camera are consolidatory 2MP macro camera getting 2.5cm focus distance and another 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture each
This rear camera setup comes with a lot of camera modes with video modes like Macro, Slow motion, Timelapse with hyperlapse stabilization, Spot color video, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and 1080P (FHD) recording at 30/60fps.
Moving frontward is a single 8MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture in contrast to the single 13MP shooter of it’s 2020 edition.
Hardware and Software
The 2021 editon gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, which is a slightly toned down SoC when compared to the Snapdragon 665 processor of the 2020 model.
The Octa-core SoC blends with Adreno 610 GPU and up to 2.0GHz CPU frequency.
The Moto G power 2021 runs on Motorola’s My UX user interface on top of the Android 10 operating system.
Here, it comes with either a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, or 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage option as opposed to the single RAM and Storage option of the 2020 model. And there’s an expandable external storage of up to 512GB memory.
The Motorola Moto G Power features an FM radio, 2 microphones, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, single SIM, 4G connectivity, Type-C port (USB 2.0) and lot more.
The star of the show is a non-removable 5000mAh battery, which can go up to 3 days on a single charge with up to 15W TurboPower charging capability but with just 10W charging in-the-box.
Motorola Moto G Power 2021 Price and Availability
The price of Motorola Moto G Power is pegged at $199 for the base level variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and $249 for the maxed out model.
This price converts to around 76,000 Naira in Nigeria, 1,169 GHC in Ghana and 21,891 KHS in Kenya.
