Huawei’s P series flagship showcases their expertise in photography, that’s what the “P” stands for.
With it great photographic capabilities, does it also deliver in terms of the other key features we expect from a flagship device, and overall performance?

The back and front of this device is built in Corning Gorilla Glass with an aluminum frame
The rear view of this device is fascinating with it’s sleek and stunning colorways while featuring a fairly prominent camera bump which houses a triple camera setup unlike the P20 which got one camera less. Beneath the camera bump is a dual LED flash and the brand name below, indicating it’s an Huawei smartphone.

The Leica-branded optics has always been the highpoint of expertise for Huawei’s P-series devices, and the P30 is no exception.
Despite lacking the 5x optical periscope zoom of the premium model, it’s 3x optical zoom lens isn’t far off and deliver almost the same image quality.
It rear triple-camera loadout comprises of 40MP wide-angle main shooter which produces the best color through its Super Spectrum filter, which ‘sees’ RYYB (red, yellow, yellow, blue) light instead of the typical RGB (red, green, blue), thus, enabling it to capture wider color spectrum for richly detailed images.
The main shooter also capture via pixel-binning to produce a sharp detailed 10MP images by default.

The Huawei Emotion User Interface (EMUI 9.1) gets on board with the Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
It presents a 6GB RAM for the base models and another 8GB RAM for the maxed out model which pairs with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB internal storage. Instead of the microSD slot, it packs a Nano-memory card slot.
The smartphone is a dual SIM 4G enabled device which packs a 3.5mm Jack which you won’t get on the P30 Pro, NFC, USB Type-C 3.1, Bluetooth 5.0 and a Wifi dual-band.
It battery capacity could be improved, but its super-fast charger is enough to cater for charging inadequacies.
Its 3,650 mAh battery looks disappointing but it’s optimized to get you covered which is accompanied by 40W fast charging support which could juice up your tank in few minutes.
Unfortunately, wireless charging and wireless reverse charging were not included.
